Friday Favorite: Soft Lips Lip Balm

This is probably one of the best lip balm i’ve used lately. It’s a really great, moisturizing lip balm that left my lips feeling soft as well as protected, especially since this winter weather dries them out so much. I got it as a stocking stuffer for Christmas in the vanilla flavor. Staying moisturized during the Winter is always something that I struggle with. The only issue I have is that once I twist it up, it has trouble twisting back down. This may just be an issue with this particular one though.

Overall i’m pretty pleased, and I thought this would be a good item to share with y’all.

Beauty Box

For those of you who subscribe to a lot of beauty boxes, or who have tried a couple out before: What is your favorite beauty box?

I’ve thought of trying one out, but I want one with really good value.

Friday Favorite: Alba Botanica Towelettes

Hey there! It’s been a while since i’ve done a Friday Favorite, but i’m excited to share this product with y’all.

Makeup removers are something that I sometimes forget about, but a lot of times that’s because I don’t like the way that they feel and smell. Alba Botanica’s Hawaiian 3-in-1 clean towelettes smell SO GOOD! It makes me think of the beach.  The formula is really gentle.

They are a makeup remover, cleanser, toner, and hypo-allergenic. Each packet has 30 towelettes, and they sell for the $3-$5 range. I read the packaging and found out that there is no animal testing, artificial colors, parabens, phthalates, sodium lauryl/ sulfate, or sodium methyl sulfate. Yay! for those of us with sensitive skin!

Friday Favorite: EO French Lavender Shower Gel

So, I’m a huge fan of essential oils and everything natural. What I love about this shower gel is that the lavender oils smell really pure. It doesn’t have that sort of “forced” imitation scent that I find in many other “lavender” products.

I find the scent really soothing, and it makes my shower time seem more luxurious. It also makes my skin feel really good after. They have several other scents and products that i’m interested in, but I have yet to try any others.

You can find a really great description of the product as well as a detailed list of ingredients here. A 16oz pump bottle is $12.99 on their website.

I’ve loved doing these quick little Friday Favorite reviews of some of my go-to beauty favs. Is there any particular area of my beauty routine that y’all would like to see a review from in my upcoming posts?

Friday Favorite: Shimmer!

This week’s Friday Favorite is one of my favorite products. I don’t know if it’s the years of dance team or simply something growing as a girl has instilled in me, but I love a good, classy glitter.  I picked up LASplash “mineral eyeshadow and body & face glitter” in Exquisite (76618) on sale at Ulta a while ago.

It’s become one of my go to shadows for everything from a night out to a beach day. The golden color works great for me and makes it really elegant if applied correctly. I love to use it on the lid and inner crease and then blend out the rest of the crease and outside with a subtle brown.

LASplash offers it in a variety of colors, but I think that this is probably the best of the options.

As with most loose  shimmers and glitters, it may fall a little after application, but i’ve never had a real problem with it.

If you love the nail polish that i’m wearing, be sure to check out last week’s Friday Favorite!!! I think the shadow and polish look so good together!

Friday Favorite: Xtreme Wear Nailpolish

It’s metallic, it’s golden, and so far it’s lasted pretty well. This is one of Sally Hansen’s less expensive lines, and i’m really loving it. I’ve been able to find it for around $3. My sister bought this nail polish color: Golden I, and I just had to try it!

I used two pretty thick coats. One coat provides a more subtle, shimmery look. The more coats, the more metallic the polish looks.

I think this look is really elegant, and I could see it working for almost every season. It’s a great way to add a little bit of interest without having to commit to something particularly bright or colorful.

This is definitely going to join this red polish on my list of favorite nail polishes!

I need a good face moisturizer! Help!

I’m looking for a good face moisturizer that really hydrates my skin. I’ve been searching for something for a long time with limited luck. I’ve used some high quality products such as Skin by Ann Webb before (which I loved), but it’s kind of getting out of my price range for everyday use at this point.

So here’s kind of the things that are important to me:

– safe for my skin (I have eczema)

– relatively inexpensive ($30 limit preferred)

– mostly natural

– enriched ( I really like products with Vitamin C in them)

– cruelty free definitely preferred

If you use something that meets at least most of these criteria, please comment below. It would really help me!
